The castle was built in the XII on the foundations of an Arab fort and the first historical information about it is not the best and dates back to the war of the Vespers . In fact, it is said that all the French who lived in the castle were killed and their bodies were hung on the walls of the stronghold .

The view from the castle is truly fantastic , a 360 degree view over the village and the surrounding countryside. Inside you can admire the typical clothes of the nineteenth century nobles and the caretaker will guide you along the way, telling you the whole history of the castle.

Where to eat in Naro

The restaurants are located in Via Umberto before arriving in the historic center and are not as many as perhaps in other more touristy places. If you want to eat good pizza you can go to the Gallo D’Oro or if you prefer a restaurant at the Lanterna . If you want to try some typical Sicilian desserts or enjoy a good ice cream , the Melilli pastry shop is near the La Lanterna restaurant.
