The tower was built in 1593-1594 by Giovanni Cosimo Bellomo, a nobleman of Syracuse, as a defense of Punta Secca only to be restored in 1747. It was in visual connection with the other nearby towers, namely that of Santa Croce Camerina, Punta Braccetto and the Cabrera tower. This historic monument was in danger of being lost forever, after it passed into the hands of private individuals around 1900. In fact, the tower was completely overturned, to be used as a dwelling. Doors, windows and even balconies were built. Fortunately, in 2013 a conservative restoration was carried out which restored its ancient appearance.

In this tower today there is a bar / rotisserie, where you can enjoy, perhaps on the terrace right in front of the sea, arancini, ice creams, croissants with ricotta and much more. Appetizers are also served during sunset.
