What to see in Favara
Favara is a town of about 10,000 inhabitants, only 10 minutes away from the famous one Valley of the Temples . What to see in Favara? In Piazza Cavour there is the castle of the Chiaramonte of 1200, the Baroque church of the Rosario (Very small and simple seen from the outside, but with fabulous internal decorations), the seventeenth-century church of Purgatory and the beautiful nineteenth-century buildings .
Topsecretsicily tip: You can also book a guided walking tour with cannoli and Sicilian lunch included.
But these are not the only things to see in Favara. In truth, the town has been reborn for the past few years thanks to the initiative of two young artists, who have revalued thetown’s totally abandoned historic center, restoring buildings and transforming them into veritable works of art, creating the Farm Cultural Park. Just think that it was placed by the British blog Purple Travel in sixth place in the world as a contemporary art tourist destination , preceded by Florence, Paris, Bilbao, the islands of Greece and New York.
Admission is free . As for the times, it is better to visit their web page .
